Βίντεο δείχνουν ένα αεροσκάφος έρευνας και διάσωσης μάχης HC-130J “Combat King II” και ένα ελικόπτερα UH-60 Black Hawk να πετούν πάνω από το νότιο Ιράν προσπαθώντας να εντοπίσουν τους πιλότους του F-15E που καταρρίφθηκε από ιρανικά πυρά.
Ταυτόχρονα όπως ισχυρίζονται ιρανικά ΜΜΕ κατά τη διάρκεια της επιχείρησης έρευνας και διάσωσης για τους πιλότους του F-15E, ένα Black Hawk (UH-60) «δέχτηκε επίθεση από ιρανική αεράμυνα κοντά στα σύνορα και αποχώρησε» ή «καταρρίφθηκε».

H CENTCOM πάντως εξακολουθεί αρνείται οποιαδήποτε απώλεια F-15E πάνω από το Ιράν και η υπόθεση της κατάρριψης ή όχι παραμένει αμφιλεγόμενη και χωρίς επίσημη επιβεβαίωση μέχρις στιγμής.

Όπως αναφέρεται ακόμη η μαζική αμερικανική επιχείρηση έρευνας βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη, με τη συμμετοχή και drones MQ-9, μαχητικών F-35 και ελικοπτέρων.
Οι ιρανικές αντιαεροπορικές άμυνες εμπλέκονται με τα αμερικανικά αεροσκάφη που συμμετέχουν στην επιχείρηση έρευνας και διάσωσης.
Παράλληλα συμφωνά με την ιρανική κρατική τηλεόραση όποιος δώσει πληροφορίες για την κατάσταση του ή των πιλότων θα λάβει μεγάλη αμοιβή.
