Ένταση επικρατεί σήμερα Σάββατο (4/10) στη Γεωργία καθώς διαδηλωτές στην Τιφλίδα έσπασαν μεταλλικά οδοφράγματα και εισέβαλαν στο Προεδρικό Μέγαρο.
Νωρίτερα σήμερα, χιλιάδες άνθρωποι βγήκαν στους δρόμους της γεωργιανής πρωτεύουσας για να διαμαρτυρηθούν για τις δημοτικές εκλογές.
Οι συμμετέχοντες κρατούσαν γεωργιανές σημαίες, πλακάτ με αντικυβερνητικά συνθήματα και φωτογραφίες πολιτικών κρατουμένων — ακτιβιστών, δημοσιογράφων και πολιτικών που συνελήφθησαν μετά τις διαμαρτυρίες που ξεκίνησαν στα τέλη του περασμένου έτους.

Η συγκέντρωση διοργανώθηκε από τον τραγουδιστή Paata Burchuladze, ιδρυτή της πλατφόρμας «Rustaveli Avenue».
Η αστυνομία χρησιμοποίησε υδροβόλα στην οδό Atoneli κοντά στο Προεδρικό Μέγαρο ενώ υπάρχουν καταγγελίες και για χρήση σπρέι πιπεριού.
Οι διοργανωτές της συγκέντρωσης δήλωσαν ότι η κρατική εξουσία «επανήλθε στον λαό».
